A Case of Extramedullary Plasmacytoma, Immunoglobulin, M, Kappa, Manifested by Massive Ascites

Abstract
|
|
|
rimary extramedullary plasmacytomas (E.M.P) are uncommon plasma cell neoplasms that
generally occur in the submucosal tissue of the upper airway.
The following illustrates a case study of a 73 year-old man with peritoneal E.M.P and
subsequent is described. The finding of many plasma cells in ascites and electrophoresis and
immunoelectrophoresis of ascites led to diagnosis. Similar histologic findings such as multiple
myeloma and immunoblastic lymphoma were ruled out by clinical study and immunochemical
studies. This malignant ascites represents the first case described cased by E.M.P.
